Your intimate health deserves care, not embarrassment. Many women live with itching, unusual discharge, odour or discomfort for weeks because they feel shy about mentioning it, even to a doctor. At Venus Women’s Wellness Clinic in Wakad, these are among the most common concerns we see, and we treat them with the same calm attention as any other health question.
What is normal and what is not
Some white or clear discharge is normal and healthy. It is part of how the vagina cleans itself, and it changes through your cycle, turning thinner around ovulation and sometimes heavier before a period or in pregnancy.
Discharge may need attention if it changes colour (yellow, green or grey), turns thick like curd, smells strong or fishy, or comes with itching, burning, redness, pain during sex or pain while passing urine. These can be signs of a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis or another infection, all of which are treatable once the cause is known.
How we care for you
Your visit starts with a private conversation and, with your consent, a gentle examination. A quick swab test can identify the exact infection, so the treatment is right the first time. Dr. Madhavi Tayade also looks for the reasons problems keep coming back, such as blood sugar, hormonal changes, recent antibiotics or daily habits. If your cervical screening is due, it can be done at the same visit.
Ayurveda adds another view. Digestion, diet and routine may play a part in recurring symptoms. Herbal washes or formulations traditionally used for intimate comfort, and diet changes that may support a healthy balance, are suggested under medical supervision and alongside any modern treatment you need.
When to see a doctor
Book a visit if you have discharge with itching, burning or a bad smell, symptoms that keep returning after treatment, bleeding after sex, pain in the lower abdomen, or any sore or lump in the intimate area. If you are pregnant and notice a change in discharge, get it checked promptly. If you have high fever with severe lower abdominal pain, go to the nearest hospital or call 108.
Simple everyday care
Wear breathable cotton underwear, change out of damp clothes quickly, avoid perfumed washes and douches, and wipe from front to back. These small habits help many women stay comfortable.
There is no need to feel awkward about asking. Call us or book an appointment with Dr. Madhavi Tayade at our clinic in Wakad, and we will take it from there.
