Garbhasanskar is a time-honoured Indian practice built on a simple idea: what a mother feels, thinks, hears and eats during pregnancy shapes how she experiences it, and her early bond with her baby. At Venus Women’s Wellness Clinic in Wakad, Dr. Madhavi Tayade, who holds a diploma in Garbhasanskar with advanced certification, brings this tradition into modern pregnancy care.

What Garbhasanskar involves

Our sessions combine a few gentle practices. Positive affirmations and mantra chanting build a calm, hopeful frame of mind. Music and storytelling give you quiet moments of connection with your baby. Guided meditation and breathing help with sleep, anxiety and the ups and downs of pregnancy. NLP techniques can ease fears about labour and motherhood, while pregnancy yoga and month-wise diet guidance support your changing body.

None of it is complicated. Most practices take a few minutes a day, and you can do them at home, at work or before bed.

How it fits with your medical care

Garbhasanskar supports your medical care and never replaces it. Your regular antenatal check-ups, tests and scans carry on as usual. Because Dr. Madhavi Tayade is also a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, she tailors your practices to your pregnancy’s medical needs. With high blood pressure, a low-lying placenta or other concerns, some yoga positions may be changed or left out. If stress or low mood starts to weigh on you, she makes sure you get the right medical support.

We make no claims about a baby’s intelligence, looks or personality. Our focus is a calmer, better-supported mother, good nutrition and a strong early bond, all of which are good for you both.

Who can join

You can join at any stage of pregnancy. Many women begin in the first trimester, and some start before conception through Beej Sanskar. Partners and family are welcome in some practices. Reading, singing or talking to the baby together often becomes a cherished family routine.

A note on safety

If at any point in pregnancy you have bleeding, severe pain, leaking fluid or reduced baby movements, stop any practice and contact us. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital or call 108.

Questions women ask

What is Garbhasanskar?

Garbhasanskar is a traditional Indian practice of nurturing the baby in the womb through the mother's thoughts, emotions, food and daily routine. It includes music, affirmations, stories, meditation and yoga. The aim is a calm, positive pregnancy.

When should I start Garbhasanskar?

You can begin at any stage of pregnancy. Many women start in the first trimester, and some begin even before conception through Beej Sanskar. It is never too late to join.

Can Garbhasanskar make my baby more intelligent?

We do not make claims about a baby's intelligence or personality. What we can say is that a calmer, well-supported mother, good nutrition and a strong emotional bond are good for both of you.

Can my husband or family take part?

Yes, and we encourage it. Partners and family members can join some practices, such as music, stories and reading to the baby, which also helps them bond.

Is Garbhasanskar safe if I have a high-risk pregnancy?

Most of the practices, such as meditation, affirmations and music, are gentle and suitable for many women. Yoga and physical practices are adjusted or avoided depending on your condition. Dr. Madhavi Tayade will guide you.
