Women’s health is not only about the body. Stress, anxiety, low confidence and old fears can affect periods, fertility, pregnancy and recovery after birth. At Venus Women’s Wellness Clinic in Wakad, Dr. Madhavi Tayade offers NLP therapy as gentle, supportive care for emotional wellbeing, especially in pregnancy and the months after delivery.

What NLP is

Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, is a set of techniques built on the link between how we think, the words we use, and how we feel and behave. In a session you are guided through simple exercises: you notice a pattern that is not helping you, reframe it and practise a calmer, more confident response. Relaxation, visualisation and breathing are often part of it.

We use NLP for everyday stress and worry, low confidence, fear of labour, anxiety about becoming a mother, and the emotional strain that can come with fertility treatment or PCOD.

Supportive care, not a replacement

NLP is supportive. It does not replace psychiatric or psychological care, or any prescribed medicine. If you already see a psychiatrist or psychologist, please continue; we can work alongside them. If what you are going through needs specialist mental health care, such as persistent depression, panic attacks or thoughts of self-harm, we will help you get it.

As a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, Dr. Madhavi Tayade also checks for physical causes that can affect mood, such as thyroid problems, anaemia or hormonal changes.

How it fits with our other care

NLP often works well with other practices. Meditation, yoga and a steady daily routine may support emotional balance, and calming Ayurvedic therapies such as Shirodhara may be suggested where suitable. In pregnancy, NLP is part of our Garbhasanskar programme. After delivery, we offer it as part of postnatal care.

When to reach out

Questions women ask

What is NLP therapy?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a set of techniques that look at how our thoughts, words and habits shape how we feel and behave. Sessions use guided exercises to help you notice unhelpful patterns and practise new responses. It is a supportive approach for everyday stress, anxiety and confidence.

Can NLP replace psychiatric treatment or medicines?

No. NLP is supportive and does not replace a psychiatrist, psychologist or prescribed medicines. If you are already on treatment, please continue it. If your symptoms need specialist care, we will help you get it.

Is NLP helpful in pregnancy?

Many women feel anxious about pregnancy, labour or becoming a mother. NLP techniques may help ease fear and build confidence, and they are gentle, non-invasive techniques that can be used in pregnancy. They are often part of our Garbhasanskar programme.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies. Some women find a few sessions helpful, others prefer regular support over a longer period. We decide this together based on how you feel.

What if I am having thoughts of harming myself?

Please seek help immediately. Go to the nearest hospital or call 108, or reach out to someone you trust right away. You do not have to go through this alone.
